Women’s Day is dedicated to celebrating women’s achievements in the social, economic, cultural, and political spheres. The day, collectively founded by women, also brings attention to gender parity and women’s rights.
Women’s month is an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on women’s achievements, as well as the problems they have faced in the struggle to be free and the important role they continue to play in society.
During women’s month in South Africa, several key issues affecting the female gender are given the attention that THEY deserves.
For instance, to date, women still encounter domestic violence, unequal pay, sexual harassment in their work stations, parenting issues, schooling for girls, and sanitary towels among other issues.
We all play a part in changing what was, to what we all hope the future could look like! We need to stand together to create equal rights for woman, to fight for the rights of woman and to protect the woman and children of our country!
This is not for one person, but for a nation!
