BASIC REFRACTORY PRODUCTS
Durocast manufactures a wide range of basic products based on magnesia, chrome magnesia and olivine aggregates. The range includes:
HEARTH MATERIALS
Magnesia based. These products are available in dry, tar and non aqueous bonds.
RAMMING AND PATCHING
Magnesia and chrome magnesia based. These products are primarily for use in steel and non-ferrous applications.
Gunning
Magnesia, chrome magnesia and olivine based. These products are made for use in steel, copper, platinum and ferro-alloy furnaces. Durocast is also able to supply equipment and offer a maintenance service.
Castables
Using the latest advances in bonding technology, castables are made using magnesia, chrome-magnesia and olivine. Applications include metal and slag runners, furnace sidewalls etc.
Ladle Backfill
Olivine and magnesia based. These ladle backfills are made for applications requiring low thermal conductivity or extra safety.
TUNDISH SPRAY
Insulating tundish spray materials based on olivine or magnesia.
WELL SAND FOR EBT FURNACES
An olivine based sand made for easy opening of tapholes in EBT furnaces.
Mortars
Air-setting and heat-setting mortars based on magnesia, chrome magnesia and chrome are manufactured for a variety of applications.
Fettling
Dolomite and magnesia based fettling materials made for Electric Arc Furnace hearth maintenance.
