Everything has shifted in light of COVID-19, and the pursuit of workplace wellness will accelerate.
Deemed a global ‘pandemic’ by the World Health Organisation (WHO) on 11 March 2020, COVID-19 has grown to affect countries, companies and individuals across geographies. It is widely known that control of our everyday environments has a direct impact on our health and well-being — now more evident and important than ever — and the workplace must adapt in the short-and long-term.
In the last view months, prior to and during the lockdown, the number of people working from home increased, while some were sent home on unpaid leave. Even though this was the case for a lot of companies, it was with much relief and appreciation, that this was not the case at DUROCAST. Management was able to fully pay all employees, even though they were not able to operate fully during the lock-down period. Also no hours have been cut, which is a major advantage for all employees, helping and uplifting them to maintain financial health.
This pandemic shook the world, there is no doubt about it. But Leadership is a critical matter that is required to drive a business or company to succeed in this disruptive period. And with that being said, the same goes for a reliable and dedicated team! We cannot stress enough the importance of organisational culture in driving success during this period. The Covid-19 and the lockdown period favoured organisations whose culture encourages innovation, accountability, performance, risk-taking, trust, integrity and teamwork.
Our hearts are filled with joy as we testify, that these tough times, made us at DUROCAST stronger as a team! As we are filled with hope and great plans for the future!
